“Internet of Production for Agile Enterprises” was the guiding theme of the 29th AWK Aachen Machine Tool Colloquium on May 18 and 19, 2017. The highlights of the conference, which was organized by the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering WZL of RWTH Aachen University and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, comprised the introduction of the first production car developed by using Industrie 4.0 methods, the opening of Europe’s largest (30 000 m²) research cluster for production technology at the RWTH Aachen Campus as well as the inauguration of the newly established RWTH Aachen Business School.
Once again, the AWK Aachen Machine Tool Colloquium was the meeting point for more than 1,000 German and international experts from production technology and related disciplines, providing them with an extensive program of talks as well as an accompanying industrial exhibition.
The project SYMPLEXITY was presented at the AWK by Mr. Hähnel from Fraunhofer IPT.
Besides the latest developed manufacturing and sensing technologies, a video was shown presenting collaboration scenarios between the robot and human with SYMPLEXITY solutions.
